New year, new adventures. Let’s explore more together! 🎉

Published over 1 year ago • 3 min read

Hey Reader!

Here we are. A new year and it’s time for new adventures!

Are you ready to explore more this year? Join me on this adventure! 🧭

At the end of 2021, I knew life was going to be wild and that my travels were going to be changing.

New experiences and exploration are essential for me, like air or water, so I set the intention to have 100 new experiences over the course of 2022.

There were no hard and fast rules, it simply had to give me that little jolt of, “Ooh, this is new and exciting!”

By the end of 2022, I’d had 159 new experiences!

New experiences can be anything from hiking a new trail to visiting a new museum! 💯

It doesn’t have to be expensive or elaborate. It only needs to give you that sense of wonder and adventure.

I loved the way this intention shifted my focus.

If I wanted to go out, I looked for new places instead defaulting to the familiar.

This mindset helped me find more opportunities to explore, even in my own backyard!

Is this something you’d like to do with me this year? Let's get started! 🙌

1 - Choose your number. (start today or add any new experiences you’ve already had this year.

2 - Share it friends you want to join you on the adventure! I’d also love it if you’d send me updates with your favorites, a photo, and a story. I want to start featuring them in these emails!

3 - If you’re on Instagram, use the hashtag #2023 and/or tag me. I’ll share them there too!

What’s new around here?

I love to explore, and that doesn’t always mean travel, so I’m expanding this space to include other mediums of discovery.

Currently, I’m exploring other interests and projects beyond Into the Bold (more on those soon).

For now, you’ll get these emails every month instead of every week.

What’s your favorite way to explore?

When I’m not traveling, books are one of my favorite ways to engage new ideas, characters, and even places.

Tell me yours, and I’ll add it to my ever-growing list of topics we can touch on here!

Don’t forget the How to Plan Your Own Unique International Trip course is still available!

The 15% discount will run through the end of February (use EMAIL15). Then it will be the standard price of $100.

Feel free to shoot me an email with any questions you have! Also, don’t forget there’s a 30-day guarantee - if you don’t love it, you get a refund.

Indie Travel Inspiration

Here is a new post I’ve written since the last time I saw you!

Explorer's Toolkit

Here are a couple of useful tools that have been helpful with my recent explorations.

  • Rainbow.io - If you’re like me and have a ton of interests and/or a zillion tabs open, this is a wonder! It’s a bookmark manager, but it lets you add tags and categorize links, so they're easy to find again.
  • Stippl.io - this site has been useful for organizing the different information for my trips, and they’ve just released an app! I just downloaded it this morning, so I haven’t had time to test it yet, but hopefully, you’ll find it useful too.

I’ve missed writing to you! Life is just getting back to something like ‘normal’, so I’m curious to see where it goes.

What are you exploring these days? I’d really love to know! Hit reply and tell me all about it.

Alright, that’s it for today, my friend. This email series will continue to evolve, and I hope you’ll enjoy the new things coming your way!

Cheers,

Annie

P.S. Don’t forget - the 15% discount on the travel planning course will only last until the end of February (EMAIL15). If you’d rather get one-on-one help, just let me know!

Hey Reader! It’s been one hell of a hot minute since we’ve connected! When I decided to stop writing the Indie Travel Dispatch, I truly didn’t imagine that it would be nearly a year before I’d be back. 🤯 I have no desire to rehash the chaos of 2023, so let’s just say it was a wild ride -- some of the hardest moments of my life mixed with some of the most incredible ones too. Now that the dust has (mostly) settled, I finally have space to think about what comes next. While travel will always...

Hey Reader! It’s the last day of February (my least favorite month), and I’m celebrating by getting ready to welcome Spring. This time of year always brings big changes in my world and this one is no exception. There’s a lot to share with you in this email, so it’s a bit longer than usual. I hope you’ll stick with me. Truth: Life is one grand exercise in letting go. Learning to let go starts when we’re small. Friends move away, our teachers change from year to year and, eventually, we have...

Hey Reader! Wow, has it really only been two weeks since I wrote to you? It feels like two months with everything that’s been happening! I’m back in Washington for the holidays (Stan just arrived for Thanksgiving!) and I have a lot more clarity about where I’d like to take both life and business from here! TL;DR: I want to revamp this newsletter to make it more fun, helpful, and interesting for you. Share your feedback and opinions in this short survey! I’m going to pause these emails for the...
